The incident happened on Sunday, Aug. 6 around 11:15 p.m., when authorities responded to the parking lot of the Shrub Oak International School in Mohegan Lake at 3151 Stony St., where a driver had struck a victim, according to Yorktown Police.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers gave aid to the victim and began searching for the fleeing suspect, who was quickly found and pulled over on Stony Street.
An investigation then confirmed that the driver, 36-year-old Port Chester resident Luis Floencio Llanos Loja, had allegedly struck the victim and caused them minor injuries before driving away, police said.
The victim was later taken to Westchester Medical Center for further evaluation.
Following the traffic stop, Llanos Loja was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He was then released on his own recognizance and scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Aug. 24.
